Virgo Full Moon. March 18th 2022. Judgement Day: Big Dreams versus Personal Boundaries

The PISCES SEASON is the time of culmination of the Sun’s travel throughout the Zodiac. Pisces is represented by two fish swimming in opposite directions— the visionary one who believes and is ready to turn the fantasy into reality, and the other, who doubts and denies its vision, persuaded that the world would reject it anyhow. This is a tale of divine discontent and how to handle your visionary nature. The Virgo Full Moon brings resolutions to this eternal dilemma through practical manifestations.

The Full moon symbolizes a peak of energies, and occurs when the Sun (the ego) opposes the Moon (the soul). This Full Moon in Virgo occurs on March 18th, 2022, 3:17 am in New York (check your time zone accordingly), with the Sun at 27 degrees and 40 minutes of Pisces, and the Moon at 27 degrees and 40 minutes of Virgo.

Big Dreams versus Personal Boundaries

Moon, moving fast around the Zodiac, activates the cosmic transmission and as it is opposing the powerful stellium in Pisces with Sun, Jupiter, Neptune & Mercury, it offers us the potential of expressing the deep spiritual union of Pisces with the concrete acts of Virgo.  The symbolic polarity of the Pisces/Virgo axis is expressed as logic versus intuition, spirit vs matter, visionary creativity vs practical work. Therefore, this Full Moon calls upon finding material forms for our spiritual, intuitive, and mystical experiences. With the Sun in transcendental Pisces, and the Moon in practical, grounded, and deliberate Virgo, we have an opportunity to balance these energies, and encounter resolutions that will help us integrate Spirit with Matter.

Pisces is all about compassion, big dreams, universal love, and creativity which are particularly pronounced during this Full Moon, with 4 planets in a stellium in Pisces. Be mindful of the Pisces pitfalls: tendency to get inflated (strong Neptune: any Sun/Neptune aspect or MC/Neptune aspects) and to become a martyr (Pisces Sun, Pisces Moon). This Full Moon shall teach us not to allow ourselves to be taken advantage of or to be overextending ourselves in draining relationships or partnerships – for that you need to exercise (Virgo Moon) discernment which is your ability to judge well and set boundaries. Setting boundaries is the biggest challenge for those with strong Pisces, and also Cancer and Libra energies. You mantra is:

“Today, I will not wait for others to see and care; I will take responsibility for being aware of my pain and problems, and caring about myself.”

The focus on relationships is heightened by the Mars / Venus conjunction in Aquarius squaring Uranus in Taurus. This alignment may bring unexpected and possibly upsetting situations, testing our relationships and values.

If we look towards Mercury to understand what is happening in our connections we will get an intuitive download. There is pronounced empathic heart based energy with Mercury in Pisces which may be difficult to pinpoint and express in logical ways but it gives us valuable insights, and can be beautifully channelled through poetry and music.

Mercury and Jupiter, the rulers of this Full Moon, are both in Pisces in stellium (multiple conjunction) with Neptune and the Sun. Since the Pisces energies are exceptionally strong, it is even more important to focus on Virgo qualities so as to experience the integrations of these energies.

Emotional Integration

This Full Moon encourages us to embrace the Virgin archetype in all its complexity. Virgo, or the Virgin brings us back to the origins of our civilization and the first accounts of astrology as the cosmic religion. In the ancient Sumer, when astrology followed the movement of celestial objects, like Joytish / Hindu astrology still does, the most important, live-giving deity was known as Inanna, with her symbolism as the Goddess of Love, the most powerful force in the Universe.

Greek mythology also explains the origins of the Virgo constellation, referring to the Golden Age of humanity after which all the Gods abandoned the Earth, with an exception of Astraea whose name translates as star-maiden. She was a daughter of Astraeus, the Titan-god of the dusk, and Eos, a Titaness and the goddess of the dawn. Astraea remained with humanity until the end of the Silver Age, then as the Bronze Age began she fled to the stars appalled by human rage and greed. She became the constellation Virgo, holding the scales of Justice, which represents the constellation of Libra. The legend says that Astraea will one day come back to Earth, bringing with her the return of the utopian Golden Age… Read about the new archetypes of womanhood in the article below:

Personal Forecast

If you have any planets in the Mutable signs of Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius or Gemini, between 10-30 degrees (the large orb is the result of the stellium conjunctions), and also early Cardinal signs of Libra, Capricorn, Aries and Cancer, between 0-7 degrees, this Full Moon will strongly affect you, presenting itself through some sort of conflict, or culmination.

Also, if you have any planets or points in your chart between 10-30 degrees of Earth Signs (Taurus, Capricorn) or Water Signs (Cancer, Scorpio) you will be blessed with useful and meaningful insights which will help you to find resolutions expressed through the material (Virgo) and spiritual (Pisces) dichotomy.

Follow your Visionary Fish!

The PISCES SEASON is the time of culmination of the Sun’s travel throughout the Zodiac. Pisces is the Mutable Water sign, the final sign represented by two fish swimming in opposite directions— the visionary one who believes and is ready to turn the fantasy into reality, and the other, who doubts and denies its vision, persuaded that the world would reject it anyhow. When the visionary fish follows her dreams, it disturbs the resting fish and when the resting fish avoids her dreams, it disturbs the visionary fish. This is a tale of divine discontent and how to handle your visionary nature. The path to understand that vision is not there to grab, instead more so to move towards. Below is an article about the deeper symbolic meaning of the Piceas archetypes:

And to hold you through all the waves of Piscean emotions Sarah Penello put together a playlist that conjures connection and communion:

Soon after the Full Moon on March 20th at 11:33 am EST, the Sun ingresses into Aries to begin a new journey around the zodiac wheel. The Spring Equinox stands for the new astrological year, and its chart defines the energies for the upcoming year, and in particular the first quadrant until the Summer Solstice.
