Jupiter, the ancient ruler of Pisces, and Neptune the modern ruler of Pisces, meet on April 12th at 9:22am EST in their sign of two fish. The conjunction takes place on 23°55′ of Pisces, Tropical, and 29°48′ of Aquarius, Sidereal. Whenever we experience the energies of conjunction, it merges the qualities of the two planets; Jupiter amplifies Neptune and Neptune renders Jupiter even more idealistic.

Kristin Bowler is an illustrator and artist based in the Hudson Valley, New York. The goddesses series is about muses, or guides: “There is a place where we feel we are at our best, our true selves and that is where my guides bring me. Though they are childlike in their playful expression, they are also wise women and represent power, action, strength, and love,” says the artist.
It’s possible that Jupiter is expressed through its shadow, inspiring false hopes and being overoptimistic, so it is good to keep a reality check whenever Jupiter is strong. Avoid overdoing things – too much of a good thing can be bad for you!
Neptunian Realms
Neptune symbolizes the ability to transcend the finite self through experiencing unity with the greater Universe.
Neptune’s discovery in 1846 reflected humanity’s readiness to embrace the new dimensions of reality, as it coincided with the development of the spiritualist movement including transcendentalism (1850s), theosophy (1871), the hypnotism, and the publication of “The Communist Manifesto” in 1848.
Neptune is the great dissolver, dissolving the ego so as to merge with a greater whole. Just like a drop becomes the sea, this spiritual longing of unification with all beings, although difficult to achieve on the physical plane, can be experienced through the artistic or spiritual experiences. Therefore, Neptune represents the higher octave and more refined expression of the planet Venus.
If we identify Venus with personal love, Neptune stands for the universal, unconditional love for all beings. And as Venus harmonizes with another person, Neptune harmonizes with the cosmos.
Strong Neptune brings sensitivity to the psychic realm, and also those dimensions of reality that we may not have vocabulary to talk about. If they can be psychically sensed, their wisdom can be revealed to us. Katherine Earle, a fiber artist and sculptor, who uses weaving, embroidery, and fiber to engage the elevated and highly conceptual forms of world creation present in decorative arts and craft traditions. Earle has a BFA in Fibres from Concordia University in Montreal, and is a recent recipient of the FST StudioProjects Fund. She has exhibited her thought-provoking work that interacts with environmentalism and philosophical conversations on progress across North America.
The shadow side of Neptune, the psychic sponge that absorbs all there is and lives in chaos of impressions, can be remedied through the art of discernment and through learning about aura management. Last time the two planets met in Pisces was in 1856, right after the discovery of Neptune, and the next time they are meant to conjunct in Pisces will take another Neptunian cycle and won’t happen until 2188. Therefore, the April conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces is unique and crucial for our generation, and the collective destiny.
