In astrofeminism that follows the rhythms of our planet, spaceship Earth and her satellite La Luna, New Moons symbolize a new lunar cycle. This auspicious New Moon also marks the beginning of the LUNAR NEW YEAR OF THE WOOD DRAGON! Creatrix Magazine brings the feminine power of YIN to the masculine energies of the Wood Dragon balancing YANG in the quantum dance of life.

2024, is the Mighty Wood Dragon identified with the Western sign of Leo, while Wood is ruled by Jupiter, and represented by number 8 in numerology, which further enhances lucky prospects.

Symbolic correlation between Western and Chinese Zodiacs.

Awaken to your Truth, catch your Dragon

This new lunar cycle begins on February 9th with the Sun and the Moon at 20 degrees and 40 minutes of Tropical, Aquarius, and culminates on February 24th with the Full Moon in Tropical Virgo. The ruler of this New Moon, Uranus is currently transiting through Taurus shifting our value systems, bringing innovations, and changes in the way we understand our world, and perceive consciousnesses.

This New Moon is an opportunity to reunite with past lives wisdom, deep diving with your Inner Dragon into the oceanic collective unconscious or the Arcturian council – New Moon trine South Node 17°08′ Libra conjunct the Star Arcturus. If you are attentive enough following your heart-mind, you can catch the spark and paradigm shift opening up to the unconventional Uranian modalities (New Moon square Uranus at 19°10′ Taurus) which help you see your life as an unique creative expression of the Spirit (Venus 21°41′ Capricorn trine Uranus 19°10′ Taurus) that has all the answers through the connection to the Higher Self (New Moon sextile North Node 17°08′ Aries conjunct Chiron 16°20′).

Main Aspects:

New Moon square Uranus at 19°10′ Taurus

Venus 21°41′ Capricorn trine Uranus 19°10′ Taurus

Uranus is about the paradigm shift, changing your mind, sudden shifts in perspective or awareness that are cerebral intellectual in their nature but they change everything, Uranus, and therefore also Aquarius is the breaker of thought frames. The Aquarian archetypes can act as an activation so ask yourself what can you initiate using the power of the lunar cycle to shift your reality?

Uranus is about innovation and disruption. It is also the planet of a paradigm shift,  and moving from 3D to 5D reality, from the past to the future, from fear based survival to unconditional love, peace, and happiness… With strong Uranus you can expect sudden breakthroughs in perspective or awareness that are intellectual in nature but can actually change everything. Think of Uranus as a paradigm-shifter and the rebel, the progressive and the outcast, the political activist and the experimenter, the mad scientist and the genius. The ruler of Aquarius can bring excitement into your life but can also cause turmoil and confusion,  so be aware and remain steady under the influence of this airy brainy type.

Light of Sahasrara

Aquarius is connected to the crown chakra, Sahasrara, the lightest, most spiritual, and the highest of the seven chakras. Sahasrara in Sanskrit means “thousandfold” and is represented by a thousand-petaled lotus, the symbol of purity and spirituality. The number 1000 is not meant literally, it implies the infinite nature of this chakra, which provides us with our most direct connection with the Divine.

Sahasrara opens us to the Cosmic Consciousness facilitating communion with the Divine, The Source, Queen of HeavensGreat Mother Creatrix of All Things

Let all the light and insights flood in

With the Aquarian energies during this new moon, you can easily attune to the feeling of being One with the Universe, while also experiencing a sense of your own divinity, the awareness that you are a soul in a human body.

Chanting “OM” helps you awaken your Crown Chakra, so listen to the Sahasrara chakra meditation while you are reading this text, then close your eyes and allow the crystal purple light and the mantra to transcend your form.

Sahasrara mantra meditation:

Om sahasra-dala-padma-sthaayei namahaऊँ सहस्रदलपद्मस्थायै नमः

In Vedic tradition, Sahasrara meaning “thousandfold” and represented by a thousand-petaled lotus, the symbol of purity and spirituality, is connected to the sign of Aquarius and the Nakshatra Shatabishak, symbolized by hundred healers.

Vedic, Sidereal: New Moon in Capricorn, Dhanishta Nakshatra

Sidereal Sun & Moon at 26°29’ Capricorn, Dhanishta Nakshatra

If you look up the sky using any of the sky apps available on your phone with more power of analyzing the astronomical data than the tools the Sumerian Priestesses and Babylonian and Egyptian Priests, you shall see that during this New Moon, the Moon and the Sun meet in the constellation of Capricorn.

In the Vedic chart the Moon and the Sun reside at 26°29’ Capricorn, in Dhanishta Nakshatra ruled by Mars and located partly in the constellation of Capricorn and partly in Aquarius, both signs ruled by the planet Saturn. Mars / Saturn combination gives focus, perseverance and good sense of timing, making this placement particularly favourable for long term projects leading towards a distant goal with the ambition to fulfill a purpose – Martial energy channelled through Saturn.

The governing deities here are the AshtaVasus (also known as Vasus), eight solar Gods of energy and light. They are elemental gods representing earth, fire, water, wind, space, sun, moon and stars, supporting the God Indra and Vishnu, and protecting people from misfortunes.

The symbols of Dhanishta are Flute and Shiva’s Drum known as Damaru that plays the rhythm of the Universe, thus natives born under this Nakshatra are often known for possessing musical gifts and a great sense of rhythm. Music, dance and performance are particularly supported by the energies of Dhanishta which is also associated with fame and abundance.

AQUARIUS NEW MOON PLAYLIST BY SARAH PENELLO:

Amongst the myriads of the Uranian archetypes are the Paradigm-Shifter, The Rebel, the Force For Change, the Inventor, the Idealist, and the Genius. There is also a powerful female archetype of UrAna, the Queen of Heavens which you can read about in my article UrAna, The Prophetess:
