A compilation of new and old poems read as one
I have flown over America in the middle of the night
ate endless sprawls of cities,
left left left behind the all-right
like slime mold their scintillating networks
they have consumed the voids between
long stretches of darkness
lakes of fire connected by highways
burn until the sun obscures them again
circling around my destination
a swarm of planes over the central store
trapped in the dream of flight
the children of the gods
have made a burning bubble of their home
we’re weaving a web around the world
we’re weaving a web around the world
tighter and tighter and tighter and tighter
lighting her brighter and brighter and brighter
until delight bursts
a seed into the night
we consume all that we have, all that we have
all that we have
peace and love and and even each other
consume our father, sister, brother, mother
each one thinking that they’re right
trying somehow to take flight
into the looming Martian sky
find a promised freedom, before we die
and the world ends in fire
brought by the fire in our hearts
burnt by our hot blood
here we are, the creatures of combustion and desire
burnt by the midday sun
with excited cells
with excited eyes
moving everything faster n faster
showing the world that we are her master
faster, tighter, better, brighter
capture the fire in metal and wire
buzzing with machinic energy
cooking up a data soup
of power and weapons and networks
a single token, for your troubles
accessed by a magic square
cryptic signing everywhere
every where I’m looking
…
hey, good lookin
good lookin out
I heard you were searching
you were searching
you were searching
you were searching for your self
I heard you struck gold
dropped the brick fell in the fold
you are mining a vein
in a certain fashion of the name
the same or different than a handle
hand to arm to mouth to find
the ways
into those self-made cells
a wellspring of desire to drive your nights and days
you’ve made your niche
are you looking to expand?
are you looking well?
lookin good?
coz you better be good looking
I’m holding
are you buying?
coz I’m selling
I’m splitting and branching creeping and swelling
I’m selling
I’m selling
I’m selling
…
the last sun set on mars
as it dips under the stars,
the stars in your eyes
twinkling and burning, itching
and turning
sparkling particles of want
weather someone kicked them there
or you whorled up a whole cloud
all on your own
while working on projecting
you coded plans
projecting who you are
realizing your projects
you are the star
you are the star
you are the star
the star of all you see
what you lay your eye down on is yours
for this is your reality
to bend and to mold
to have and to hold
for all eternity
so long as you’re here
so long as you’re here to see
so long as you’re here to see me
you are the universe
the universe the you ni verse
splitting a cell of you and me
we’re warming up the seat
we’re warming up the seat
for the next one to come along
and when we close our eyes on Mars
we close our eyes on all the stars
and they will cease
to be
by gift, by chance, or sleight of hand,
we are the stewards of this land
roaming around from trailer trails to stars
dropped off by a impossible flights
driving to our desires
propelled by tanks of burning ancestors
the engine offerings
only all of earth’s life past lived
fuel for our dreams and machinations
hooking up with punks and night stalkers
dreaming in squats and splendid squalor
dancing to the data stream
I know a thing or two about rainbows
freedom, is achievable anywhere
if you know how to seduce it,
how to make it fall in love with you
love, love love
dancing the dance of you
dancing the dance of the perfect foil
the perfect diffraction/distraction/attraction
to power to power to power
love to power, force and might,
giving us electricity
to sea to sea to see
in the middle of the night
