Total Lunar Eclipse – March 3rd, 2026

Total lunar eclipse of 2026, will take place as the Earth again casts its umbral shadow over the Moon at Full Moon. This eclipse will be best visible from Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia, offering a dramatic sight of the Moon shifting to shades of red and orange.

On March 3rd, 2026, the Full Moon eclipses along Tropical Virgo-Pisces axis, with the South Node in Virgo drawing the lunar body into a ritual of release. This is not a future-oriented eclipse. It is karmic composting. The Virgo South Node asks us to examine the habits, anxieties, and microscopic self-corrections that once kept us safe but now keep us small. Perfectionism, over-functioning, service without replenishment, the endless refinement of the self as a project. The eclipse becomes a sacred dismantling of control. What systems of coping are ready to dissolve?

Opposite the Moon, stands a powerful Pisces stellium: Sun, Mars, Mercury, and Venus. If Virgo seeks order, Pisces dissolves it. If Virgo categorizes, Pisces merges. The opposition creates tension between discernment and surrender, between the spreadsheet and the dream. Mars in Pisces redirects action toward compassion. Venus in Pisces remembers love beyond transaction.

Mercury, retrograde within this Piscean tide, deepens the initiation. Thought turns inward, conversations loop back, messages blur at the edges. Mercury retrograde in Pisces dissolves linear logic so that symbolic language can rise. Dreams become instruction manuals. Old grief, unfinished conversations, spiritual questions long postponed may return for integration.

This eclipse is an initiation, accelerating shifting of the timelines. The Virgo South Node releases the addiction to fixing, while the Pisces planets invite immersion in what cannot be fixed, only felt. It is a recalibration of service: from martyrdom to devotion, from anxiety to faith. Watch where your nervous system tightens. Watch where you cling to improvement as identity. Then let the eclipse wash it clean. The medicine is allowing the larger current to carry you.

Fixed Star Fomalhaut and the humanitarian consciousness

On the Pisces side, the stellium of Sun, Mars, Mercury retrograde, and Venus moves through the waters of the Fishes, resonating with Fomalhaut, one of the four Royal Stars of Persia. Fomalhaut carries a mystical and visionary current, often associated with spiritual idealism, prophecy, and contact with higher imagination.

Though astronomically placed in the constellation of Piscis Austrinus, the Southern Fish, its sidereal position in Aquarius links it to humanitarian consciousness and the evolution of community. Fomalhaut’s power lies in amplifying the voice of humanity. It brings influence through inspired vision and moral integrity, but demands purity of intention. When aligned with ethical purpose, it supports compassionate leadership and cultural renewal. When distorted, it can manifest as illusion, escapism, or misplaced faith.

As the voice of humanity it speaks of what flows into the collective field, what narratives we consume, and what truths we dare to articulate. With Mercury retrograde moving through this region, language itself becomes oceanic. Words dissolve and reform. Old spiritual narratives may be questioned and false saviors exposed. The eclipse opposition from the Virgo Moon intensifies this reckoning.

Amplified by this eclipse axis, Fomalhaut suggests that humanity is at a threshold of moral and spiritual recalibration. The Virgo South Node exposes the consequences of fragmented systems and misplaced devotion, while the Piscean concentration reveals both our longing for unity and our susceptibility to illusion.

This is a moment that asks the collective to clear its vision, to refine its compassion with discernment, and to align spiritual aspiration with embodied ethics. The mouth of the Fish is open. What we choose to speak, believe, and circulate now carries consequence.

The demons who caused the eclipse

In Vedic astrology, the Dragons are in fact the Demons who caused the eclipse. For in depth explanation please read my article from 2017 based on a lecture I attended by Ronnie Dreyer, my Jyotish teacher:

THE DEMONS WHO CAUSED THE ECLIPSE.

Wishing you a peaceful and transformative Eclipse season.
Take time to meditate, to turn inward, and to align with the stillness of this celestial moment.
