Full Moon & Total Lunar Eclipse
November 8 at 6:01 am EST
This eclipse cycle brings us regeneration, and revelations as we burn our past lives karma. Here a gentle reminder to burn our past karmas rather than create the new ones… This Lunar Cycle began with the Solar Eclipse on October 25th, and will fully express its potential and occult meanings on the Full Moon and Total Lunar Eclipse on November 8 at 6:01 am EST. if you have any points or planets on the degree of the eclipse you should expect great intensity!
Following the Vedic tradition, this Lunar eclipse takes place within the axis of Libra-Aries. Ketu, the South Node is currently in Libra, in Swati Nakshatra, together with the Sun, while Rahu resides in Aries in Bharani Nakshatra together with the Moon. Rahu is surrounded by two benefics Jupiter and the Moon so they help to minimize the negative impact of Rahu. As the Lunar Eclipse take place during the Full Moon, the position of Rahu is highlighted with the symbolism of Bharani Nakshatra offering us a deeper understanding to the quality of this time.
Total Lunar Eclipse, Vedic Chart
Transforming through the Gates of Life and Death
Bharani Nakshatra, ruled by the God of Death and Justice Yama, represents both the endings and the new beginnings contained within the human life through the extremes of life and death, pain and ecstasy. Its symbol, the Vulva, the female sexual organ is the Portal of Life through which we emerge into this body so as to gain the earthly experience and realize our soul’s development until we are ready to exit our bodily vessel passing through the Gates of Death where God Yama awaits us to judge our actions and assign us a new life.
Bharani located entirely in the sign of Aries, is ruled by Venus, and Mars representing both female and male creative energies which combine brings us a new life through the pregnancy and birth – Bharani means literally “She Who Bears”.
Bharani brings us the full experience of life and allows us to gather wisdom through the many reincarnations. As it is the female Nakshatra it represents the traditional role of women as LifeGivers, and Nurturers, so often experiencing the hardships of care-taking but also aware of transcendental joys and unconditional LOVE.
With Rahu in Bharani and Ketu in Swati also ruled by Venus, this is the time when we are more focused on all themes related to our creative applications of the energies within the reality matrix. As Venus represents love, beauty, relationships and arts, we may experience deep realizations concerning the relationships that are meaningful in our lives as well as access higher levels of artistic expression.
Releasing of past karmas through Ketu
With the strong pull of the energies on Ketu making a conjunction with Mercury, the Sun and Venus, this is also the time of releasing all past karma. But it can also be the time when we suddenly gain awareness of spiritual wisdom inherited from our past incarnations (Ketu), and with the energies of the opposition of Mercury and Uranus we can expect intense cosmic downloads that may help us comprehend the meaning of one’s life and the directions we ought to follow.
Mercury stand for our mental and intellectual capacity to organize our environment in comprehensive ways, as it conjuncts Ketu it allows us to access the wisdom we accumulated through our galactic ancestry. It may also bestow on us deep understanding of the gnosis received from our teachers especially as it is aspected by Uranus, the Genius and Revolutionary that brings out of the box solutions often allowing us to see our lives from a different perspective, if not another state of consciousness, as long as you are willing to receive its gifts.
Vedic astrology and Western astrology – what’s the difference?
This article presents the astronomical view of the current eclipse season through the lens of Vedic, Jyotish astrology, for the Western astrology chart scroll to the bottom. Myself, in the avatar of Agni Jnana Yannanda, I use both traditions for the maximum of gnosis accumulated from the past. Below I explain the main difference between the Western astrology and Vedic:
Just like the Western and Hellenistic astrology gives us insights into our past lives and the current life path through the Nodes while also describing the present life psychological characteristic, Jyotish tells us how to attain MOKSHA (Sanskrit for enlightenment) , and cut the ties of reincarnation. If we are able to follow and understand the science of light, or the science of light emitted by the STARS – the actual translation of the word Jyotish – this knowledge may bestow on us a complete picture (multidimensional, and nonlinear, perhaps with parallel world views) and of our soul’s evolutionary journey going beyond the present life karmic entanglements. Vedic astrology teaches us that every planet within a chart tells us a karmic story, with Saturn, the Lord of Karma presenting the most challenging aspect of our deeds, Rahu, the North Node, representing our past lives desires that we are desperately trying to fulfil, however, their fulfilment will never bring us satisfaction as they belong to the past, and Ketu, the South Node, which possesses all the spiritual teachings and realizations we attained in our past incarnations – there are mostly unavailable to us in the current life, unless they are activated by a particular set of circumstances, often connected to Ketu. In short, the gnosis may be attained as long as you meditate, pray, stay centred, and live a good life. So meditate on the TRUTH, it will come to you.

Ancient scriptures suggest to stay calm and centered during the eclipses. Do some type of soothing ritual, especially if it affects a planet or point in your chart. Throughout the entire eclipse season, between October 25th and November 8th, do not make any rushed decisions. Stay centered, meditate and pray.
Myself, during the eclipse season:
Western Astrology South Node in Scorpio / North Node in Taurus
