Full Moon in Jyestha – Expression and its Essence.

Where the hand goes, the eyes follow. Where the eyes go, the mind/heart follows. Where the mind/heart (awareness) is, expression is created. Once expression is created, emotion (essence) arises.

Full Moon upon us, with the Moon in the constellation of Scorpio, in Jyestha Nakshatra, Sanskrit: the oldest, also known as The Eldest of all Nakshatras. This is the Chief Star, and astronomically it is aligned with the Star ANTARES, The Heart of Scorpio, one of the Royal Stars representing the Kundalini energy. Here, we are faced with the Power of Transformation, learning how to transmute our values so instead of being driven by the urge to destroy all that inconveniences us we can sublime the energy and build upon the old with wise teachers guiding us. Transforming, transmuting, adapting and metamorphosing from our chrysalis is the mantra of this Full Moon.

As tonight’s Full Moon ritual, I invite you to connect with the universal primary energies through the power of Mudras from the Vedic tradition. Using the five fingers that represent respectively: AGNI = Fire (thumb), VAYU = Air (index finger), AAKASHA = Space (middle finger), PRITHIVI= Earth (ring finger), and VARUN or JALA = Water (small finger).

I am grateful to the All-Knowing Universe to connect me with my collaborator working with AI @tombstonesandufos with whom we dreamt the poetry of AI keywords. In his words: “We talked about what art means to us, how to use it as a vehicle to self-understanding and how quickly the landscape is changing with AI. We are open minded to new tools, new opportunities to create.” AHO!

We called this video SHAKTI since this Full Moon’s Nakshatra Jyestha teaches us about the Shakti Power of Death, and Rebirth, connecting to the other Powers as represented by the respective Royal Stars. All four stars located in the fixed signs connect us to the occult Shakti within the Zodiac: Regulus represents the power to create, Aldebaran the power to manifest on the earthly plane, Antares the power to transform, and Fomalhaut, the power to connect and build community.

Mudras are magical, they activate untapped potential within oneself. Activating our hands through the flow of mudras, opens up new realities as it has been my own creative journey of learning this ancient art on a path of self-discovery and self-mastery initiated by a profound mystic experience I once had seeing the energy of the cosmos entering my body through the movement of my hands…

Sanskrit of the mudras mantra in the video is as follows:

YATO HASTA THATHO DRISHTI
YATO DRISHITI TATO MANAA
YATO MANAA TATO BHAVA
YATO BHAVA TATO RASA

English translation:

WHERE THE HAND GOES, THE EYES FOLLOW.
WHERE THE EYES GO, THE MIND/HEART FOLLOWS.
WHERE THE MIND/HEART (AWARENESS) IS,
EXPRESSION IS CREATED.
ONCE EXPRESSION IS CREATED, EMOTION OR
ESSENCE (RASA) ARISES.

Jyeshta Nakshatra (the Chief Star) is ruled by Mercury which brings mental brilliance and a strike of creative genius! As this Nakshatra is known to produce immense talent of the most refined type, enough to mention Einstein, Mozart and Beethoven who all had their natal Moons in Jyeshta.

The deity is Indra, King of the Gods, and the divine dragon slayer, known for his courage, and power. The primary motivation of Jyeshta is artha, material prosperity.

This Nakshatra makes us feel that we are in a position of authority, it bestows determination and stamina to rise to the top. It can bring fame and privilege but also ruthlessness – be aware! With the Full Moon taking place in Jyeshta it is advised to use the power and courage for the right reasons and to support worthy causes. The actions you take during this time really matter – let them be for healing and mending.

In Tropical Zodiac the Moon is at 13 degrees Sagittarius, doubling the theme of deep wisdom represented by Jyestha.
