Casper’s work mounts a holistic approach to the universal aspects of the natural world that confront and astonish us. She reminds us that humanity’s roots too, are in the ground, and that we are also responsible stewarding the environment for generations to come.
Birds do it, bees do it, even the flowers and the trees do it. Mammals do it with interlocking genitals, fish do it in a school. Nobody knows how eels do it, but they’re definitely doing it. Fungi do it- probably more than anyone.
Bayar’s work evokes the relationship between time and space itself. We can never fully grasp the many layered histories that shaped the world we live in today. We can only see the shape of the world.
