Astrology of the Stars
Arcturus, known as a red giant, is the brightest star (Alpha) in the northern constellation of Boötes, the fourth-brightest in the night sky outshone only by Sirius, Canopus, and Alpha Centauri. It is approximately 25 times bigger than our Sun, and it appears orange hence the “RED GIANT” description.
The constellation Boötes located above the ecliptic spreads between the constellation of Virgo, and her scales, the Libra constellation.
The star’s name ARCTURUS is derived from the Greek “Arktouros,” meaning “Guardian of the Bear,” referring to its position near the Ursa Major constellation. However, the name of the constellation Boōtēs, comes from Latin, which comes from Greek “herdsman”, “plowman” literally, ox-driver.
